Forest Science and Technology Centre of Catalonia (CTFC) is a research centre affiliated with the Generalitat de Catalunya (the Catalan government), and it reports to the Ministry responsible for forest issues. CTFC is a CERCA centre and a government accredited TECNIO agent (developer of public technology).
On an international level, CTFC is a member of : the European Forest Institute (EFI); the European Mycological Institute (EMI); the Association Internationale Forêts Méditerranéennes (AIFM); the Association des Échanges Méditerranéens pour l’Eau, la Forêt, l’Énergie, et le Développement Durable des Territoires (Échanges Med); and the Centre d’Étude et de Développement Durable Euro-Méditerranéen (CEDDEM). It is also a founding member of FORESPIR.
On a country-wide level, CTFC belongs to the Sociedad Española de Ciencias Forestales (SECF), the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC), and the Plataforma Tecnológica Forestal Española.
CTFC is a national agency of the European Forestry and Environmental Skills Council (EFESC). It was granted a ‘Human Resources Excellence in Research’ award by the European Commission, recognizing CTFC as a European research institution that fosters an attractive and motivating work environment.
